Thanksgiving in Southern Pines
Thanksgiving! Woohoo! An excuse to eat, and eat, and eat, and… well, you get the picture. Yes, there is more to Thanksgiving than food, and this year we got to spend it with a lot of family, which is what it’s really all about. We got my family and Amanda’s family together in Southern Pines this year at her Aunt and Uncle’s house. It was a great time and of course, great food. There were dishes of food on all the counters and tables with even more still in the fridge!
Amanda’s Birthday Dinner
For a few years now we have (on and off) gone to 518 for Amanda’s birthday, and this year we did it again. It’s not as though 518 is the most amazing place, or it has a special nostalgia, it just… happens. Don’t get me wrong, 518 is tasty, I just don’t remember how it became almost tradition. I spiced things up a bit by getting all of Amanda’s friends and Coworkers together for it. And don’t worry, the coworkers are good, it’s the coworkers that are also friends. It’s not like I made it a work dinner for her!
A few people couldn’t make it, but I think we ended up with about 16 or so people. And when you’re counting close friends, 16 is pretty impressive! Unfortunately, her really good friend Tony couldn’t make it because he got stuck in bad weather in the mountains, but he’s on the list for next year! Maybe I can get our list up to 20 next year? I think I feel a annual record breaking goal in the works.
