SUVs, CUVs, MPVs, CVTs and Hybrids?
So at some point, a new vehicle will be purchased, and I have no real clue what to buy. There general vehicle range we’re looking at is the “Crossover” vehicle, but many others kinda fall into that category too. There are small SUVs, large wagons, and vehicles that don’t really fall into any class… so yeah… a bit tought to narrow it down. I decided to go crazy with Excel to list out the choices and compare each. I’m still adding vehicles and new fields to it, but it’s getting to be somewhat helpful. I think I’ve narrowed it down to 3 favorites… maybe.
Update:
The Volvo XC60 is the best SUV on earth right now. It’s also $40,000 or more.
Oysters, the Taste of the Ocean
“It is briny first of all, and not in the sense of brine in a barrel, for the preservation of something; there is a shock of refreshment to it.” … “You are eating the sea, that’s it, only the sensation of a gulp of sea water has been wafted out of it by some sorcery, and are on the verge of remembering you don’t know what, mermaids or the sudden smell of kelp on the ebb tide or a poem you read once, something connected with the flavor of life itself…”

Debordieu SC Beach Trip With the Devore Family
The entire Devore family took a trip down to “Debordieu SC” this past week, unfortunately I was only able to make it for past weekend, but it was still a blast. It was also Mr. Devore’s birthday, so it was an especially fun trip. We ended up singing happy birthday to him three times, and had plenty of cake and ice cream. By the end of the trip people were getting pretty giddy and a little crazy… Honestly, one more day might have actually been too much… The birthday boy even called this the best trip they’d ever had. I’d call that a success.
4th of July Cookout at Mom’s
It’s the 4th of July! Woohoo! Time for cheeseburger, hotdogs, beer, fireworks and… oh yeah… freedom. I’m pretty sure we celebrated at least 4 out of 5 of those. I guess we may have forgotten the freedom part specifically, but of course we did exercise our right, so maybe that counts. I’m not sure if anyone really celebrates their freedom by actually doing something, but we could have at least acknowledged it. Not that it makes up for it to do it now, after the fact, but hey, “Thanks Guys”!
Though we didn’t quite hit the mark on why we celebrated, at least it was a great day, the food was amazing, and we had some fireworks! The fireworks I brought may have appeared to launch into the sky and explode into a beautiful ball of colors, but I assure you that they did not! They were very small and did not leave the ground. They were completely legal in North Carolina, which is where they were purchased (though I no longer have the receipt)! Unfortunately The only pictures I have of the fireworks appear to have some sort of lense flare that makes it look like there was a glorious explosion hundreds of feet in the air. I appologize for the misguiding photos. Hehe.
