Outer Banks Expedition With Amanda

img_1861.jpg 5 Islands, 4 Lighthouses, 1 Hurricane and a ton of seafood.

Actually this was a pretty great trip, we started at the southern tip of the outer banks and worked our way north towards Manteo and Highway 64. The weather on the first day was a little rough for camping, especially since we decided to camp right on the shore. It was really windy at about 40mph, so we had quite a bit of sand flying around and the tent was a little unstable. Since we were close to the car, I even went back to grab my crowbar to use as the main anchor… Read more

Knight’s Play in Cary with Amanda

img_1383.jpg Knight’s Play in Cary with Amanda. This is about the third time I’ve been to Knight’s Play this year. It was a little crowded since it was a Saturday (and also on Easter weekend), so we had to pair up with another group of two. Luckily they weren’t that great, so it made hitting in front of them easy going. Since she’s left handed, Amanda tried hitting lefty, but ended up going back to the right side for drives, but somehow still puts better left sided. I’m pretty good chipping and putting and smacking the hell out of the giant, trash can sized driver… but my mid game is still pretty much crap. However… I just realized that I have not been beaten this year! Technically I’ve played 5 other people and have not been beaten! WooHoo! Read more

The Reason Behind High Gas Prices

Wanna know why gas prices keep going up?
First I’ll give you some basic answer, and then a bunch of research links to follow it up…

If you want a simple solution though, there isn’t one. Even if you turn your home into a complete solar power house, ride a bicycle to work, and grow your own food, there still are many problems you’ll have to face due to the rising cost of gas. I won’t get into the problems caused by the rise of gas, but I do go into detail as to why it’s rising. It may not solve the problem, but at least we can understand it… Read more

Raleigh Dogpark with Riley

img_1263.jpg 2008-03-09 Raleigh Dogpark with Riley. We went to Riley’s favorite place in the world, Oakland Dogpark in Raleigh. There are two sections, one for tiny dogs (Dashunds, Poodles, etc), and one for dogs over 15lbs or so. He’s right on the line between the classes, so he’d either be the biggest dog in the little park, or the littlest dog in the big park… so we went to the big park. He mostly runs and jumps around on his own, but every once in awhile, the big dogs come over to check him out and then he thinks he’s a big dog too… Read more
