New Years Eve, Times Square, New York City (between 2004 and 2005). This was possibly the biggest feeling of being overwhelmed that I’ve ever had. It felt like a hundred thousand people had packed into Times Square to see one moment. To get a good spot, you have to be there by around 3:00pm in the afternoon, which is difficult when it’s below freezing out. I ended up getting to the very front of the police barricades though, so it was a really good spot. So that’s about 9 hours out in the cold for one moment, and it was entirely worth it.
